COVID-19 Policy
The Michigan Library Association’s first priority is the safety and welfare of our attendees, exhibitors, partners and team. MLA will implement and follow all current requirements related to COVID-19 from the CDC, State of Michigan, and the hotel venue.
We ask you to be courteous and conscientious of others while meeting in person at the event, especially when it comes to health and safety.
All attendees, exhibitors, partners and staff will be required to show either proof of *full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR or Rapid test result within 72 hours of the first day of an event and everyone is required to wear a mask indoors regardless of vaccination status. You will be asked to provide a vaccine card, PCR test results, or a photo of a negative rapid test at the registration desk. This policy is meant to maximize protection from all variants.
Due to the changing nature of the pandemic, attendance requirements may change prior to the event. MLA is committed to alerting all attendees of any changes, but please continue to visit this page for the latest information.
Attendees can expect available hand sanitizing stations throughout the venue, as well as more frequent and enhanced cleaning efforts, especially in “high-use areas,” including high-traffic areas, high-touch surfaces, and commonly used devices and equipment. Rooms will be cleaned between each session. Some additional precautions will include:
- Attendees will be given color-coded lanyards to indicate comfort level with person-to-person contact
- Lunches will be plated to avoid buffet lines or contamination
- Rooms will not be set at full capacity to allow additional space between attendees
- Frequent hand washing is strongly encouraged
If any government orders or safety concerns restrict us from gathering, we will reassess the event dates and reimbursements at that time. If you test positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of the event, you are expected to alert MLA staff in advance at 517-394-2774 and may receive a refund. Other extenuating circumstances due to COVID-19 will be taken into consideration when determining refunds.
